Dubai, First-Hand: Our Team Trip, Your Next Great Stay

A vibrant city, remarkable hotels and an incredible welcome. We went to Dubai to see it for ourselves, and came back with plenty of reasons to recommend it.

There is a difference between recommending a destination and experiencing it first-hand. That is why, in October, The Aspiration Group took the team to Dubai for a few days of hotel visits, local experiences and time with the people who know the city best.

Our objective was simple: strengthen our relationships, deepen our destination knowledge and make sure we can give our clients the best possible advice when planning their next Dubai escape.

We returned with fresh ideas, plenty of inspiration and an even greater appreciation for the variety Dubai offers. And, of course, a few good memories along the way.

Dubai is very much open for business

One of the most valuable parts of visiting in person was seeing how the city was operating and what visitors could expect on the ground.

Hotels were welcoming guests, restaurants were busy, and the malls had plenty of life. From the buzz of Downtown Dubai to the energy of the city's dining scene, there was a real sense of activity throughout our stay.

It was reassuring to see hospitality teams continuing to deliver the warm welcome, attentive service and high standards for which Dubai is known.

Of course, travel arrangements can change, and we always advise clients based on the latest information available when booking. But experiencing the destination first-hand gave us valuable insight into the visitor experience and the options available.

We are also looking ahead to this autumn and winter, when more European airline services are expected to resume or expand, offering travellers additional options for getting to Dubai. We will continue to monitor developments and help our clients find the most suitable routes and connections for their plans.

Six hotels, six different experiences

Dubai has no shortage of impressive hotels. The real question is which one is right for you.

Our visits gave us the opportunity to look beyond the photographs and understand what makes each property distinctive: its atmosphere, location, facilities and the kind of experience it offers.

Delano Dubai: contemporary, social and stylish

Delano Dubai brings a contemporary, design-led feel to the city's beach scene. It is a great option for travellers who appreciate modern style, a sociable atmosphere and a setting that feels as suited to relaxing by the beach as it does to enjoying Dubai's dining and nightlife.

It is particularly worth considering for couples and friends looking for a stylish, lifestyle-led stay rather than a traditional grand resort.

Banyan Tree Dubai: a more tranquil escape

Sometimes, the best part of a city break is having somewhere peaceful to retreat to. Banyan Tree Dubai offers a more serene resort atmosphere, with beachfront surroundings and a focus on relaxation.

It is an appealing choice for couples and travellers who want to slow down, enjoy the beach and return to a quieter setting after a day exploring the city. For anyone looking to balance Dubai's energy with a little downtime, it deserves a closer look.

Atlantis The Royal: Dubai at its most spectacular

Atlantis The Royal makes a statement. Its striking architecture, extensive leisure facilities and ambitious dining scene make it a destination in its own right.

For clients who enjoy having plenty to see and do without leaving their hotel, it is an exciting option. It works particularly well for celebratory trips, family holidays and travellers who want their hotel to be a major part of the experience.

Bvlgari Resort Dubai: understated elegance

Set on Jumeira Bay, Bvlgari Resort Dubai offers a distinctive blend of Italian design, refined service and an intimate resort atmosphere.

Its character is more discreet than that of Dubai's larger, high-energy properties, making it appealing to travellers who value privacy, thoughtful design and a sophisticated beachfront setting. For a special occasion or a more understated beach escape, it is a compelling choice.

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira: beach life meets city living

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira combines a beachfront setting with contemporary style and convenient access to the city's restaurants, shopping and attractions.

It is a versatile choice for travellers who want the best of both worlds: time by the sea without feeling removed from everything else Dubai has to offer. Dining is another attraction, including Tasca, where Portuguese flavours meet a distinctive setting overlooking the Arabian Gulf.

The Lana, Dorchester Collection: a sophisticated city stay

Located in the heart of Business Bay, close to Downtown Dubai, The Lana offers a polished, contemporary approach to city luxury.

Its design, service and dining experiences make it an appealing choice for travellers who prefer an urban base, whether visiting for a few nights, combining business with leisure or simply wanting to be close to the city's restaurants and attractions.

It is also worth considering for a stopover, when the right location can turn a night between flights into a memorable short stay.

The takeaway? There is no single Dubai hotel that suits everyone. Some travellers want a lively resort with endless things to do; others prefer a peaceful beachfront escape or a stylish city base. Knowing the difference helps us recommend the right property for the right client.

Beyond the hotels: discovering different sides of Dubai

A visit to Dubai would not be complete without getting out and exploring.

We crossed Dubai Creek by abra before wandering through the Gold Souk, experiencing a more traditional side of the city. It was a reminder that Dubai is about far more than spectacular skylines and contemporary resorts. Its trading heritage and historic neighbourhoods remain an important part of its character.

Later, Downtown Dubai offered a completely different atmosphere, with its illuminated skyline, lively restaurants and unmistakable evening energy.

And then there was the food. Dubai's dining scene is wonderfully varied, from relaxed beachfront restaurants and international favourites to sophisticated dining destinations and lively places to spend an evening.

These experiences matter because a great holiday is rarely just about the hotel. It is about the places you discover, the meals you remember and the experiences that make a trip feel personal.

Whether you have visited Dubai many times or are considering it for the first time, there is always another neighbourhood, restaurant or experience to discover.

The people who make the difference

One of the biggest highlights of our trip was the tremendous support we received from our partners and friends across Dubai.

We were met with genuine warmth, enthusiasm and a willingness to share their knowledge. From the hotel teams who took the time to show us their properties and explain what makes them special, to the local experts who helped us explore the destination, everyone contributed to making our visit both productive and memorable.

A sincere thank you to the teams at Delano Dubai, Banyan Tree Dubai, Atlantis The Royal, Bvlgari Resort Dubai, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira and The Lana, Dorchester Collection, for their hospitality, time and insights.

We are equally grateful to our wider network in the city, including our trusted destination management partner, Desert Gate, for helping us deepen our understanding of Dubai and the experiences available to our clients.

These relationships are an important part of how we work. They connect us with local expertise, give us a better understanding of the details that matter and help us create smoother, more considered experiences for our clients.

It is also a reminder that great travel is a team effort. The right hotel, the right local partner and the right advice can make all the difference.

What this means for your next trip

Taking the team to Dubai was an investment in the advice and service we provide.

We want our clients to feel confident that when they ask us about a destination, they are speaking to people who understand it, know the options and can help them make informed decisions.

Having explored these hotels together, our team is better equipped to explain their differences, discuss their locations and recommend the right property for each client's plans.

Perhaps you are looking for a beachfront resort for a week in the winter sun. Maybe you want a lively family holiday, a stylish few nights away with your partner or somewhere special to celebrate an occasion. Or perhaps Dubai is simply a stopover on a longer journey, and you would like to make the most of your time there.

Each calls for a different approach.

For a longer stay, we might suggest combining a few nights in the city with time at a more relaxed beach resort. For a shorter visit, the right location, convenient connections and a well-chosen restaurant can make a world of difference.

Our role is to understand what matters to you, help you weigh up the options and bring the details together. We can advise on hotels, experiences, local arrangements and the practicalities of your journey, tailoring our recommendations to your priorities.

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all travel. We believe in knowing the options well enough to find the right one for you.

And that is exactly why first-hand experience matters.

Dubai, we'll be back

A few days in Dubai gave us plenty to talk about, fresh inspiration to bring back to our clients and a renewed appreciation for the people who make the city such a compelling destination.

As we look ahead to autumn and winter, with more European airline services expected to resume or expand, there are further opportunities to explore what Dubai has to offer. We will keep a close eye on the latest travel arrangements and help our clients navigate the options.

In the meantime, whether you are planning a winter escape, a family holiday, a few nights of sunshine, a special celebration or a stopover on the way somewhere else, Dubai deserves a place on your list.
